I replaced the shoes and pads. At the same time the car required a new righthand rear wheel bearing. So I replaced them aswell. I discovered that my brakes are of the Bendix type and have the follwing serial number: DB 359 for the pads and 60749883 for the shoes. The temp switch was an easy job with a ratchet and socket. Just removed the old and quickly placed the new in, didn't lose much coolant at all in the process. I got the parts from my local Alfa garage and fitted them myself.Part prices:
temp switch - $25
brake pads - $86.36
brake shoes - $50 (re-bonded)
rear axel seal - $9.55
outter wheel bearing - $13.64
inner wheel bearing - $15.90
hub lock nut - $4.09 (these hold the drum brakes on)
total- $208.63
